I have had the pleasure of working with phenomenal families and co-workers at Flourish since 2012. Prior to that I worked in medical facilities, and I also have experience working in public schools. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Miami University in 2003 and my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Ohio University in 2005. I am licensed by the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, I hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), and I also hold my educational license from the Ohio Department of Education to practice speech-language pathology in the schools. In addition, I hold certifications in Beckman’s Oral Motor Protocol and previously in the Neonatal Oral Motor Assessment Scale (NOMAS).
I strongly believe therapy should be fun and motivating for a child. I center my interventions on each child’s interests and the family’s priorities. In addition, I believe flexibility and family participation are important factors to achieve maximum success in our therapy sessions. My clients and families lead very busy lives. So I prefer to coach them to incorporate “practice” into their daily routines rather than recommending additional “homework” sessions.
My special interests and additional trainings include early intervention, executive function, traumatic brain injury, autism spectrum disorder, apraxia of speech, Down syndrome, and feeding disorders. Since the COVD-19 pandemic, I also now enjoy providing teletherapy services to a variety of my clients. My goal is to provide individualized speech therapy of the highest quality so each child can achieve his/her full potential.
