Being a speech pathologist is more than a job for me: it is my vocation. I have always been passionate about working with people, and in nearly two decades of experience I have worked with clients from 3 days old to 103 years old. Through this work I have developed a strong understanding of language development and rehabilitation at any age.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Wyoming in 2002 and a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Kent State University in 2004. I am experienced in early intervention, providing stroke and cognitive rehabilitation, and treating people with swallowing disorders and developmental disabilities. During my career, I have worked in nursing homes, schools, private centers and hospitals, and have also provided home-care for children and the elderly. I have always had a special interest in Autism spectrum disorders, and social/pragmatic language therapy. I am currently passionate about providing non-speaking individuals a voice through the use of AAC (especially LAMP- Words For Life).
I learn something from every client and I look forward to new challenges. I am thrilled to be part of the Flourish team!
