3 Steps to Improving Interoception: An Evidence-Based Approach by Kelly Mahler
Hi! My name is Denise Clark and I am an Occupational Therapist. I have been an OT for almost 38 years. I worked for and retired from Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. I have provided therapy for clients with a variety of diagnosis’s including autism, cerebral palsy, dual diagnosis, developmental delay, CHARGE syndrome, Rett Syndrome, Down Syndrome, fine motor delays and behavioral issues. Treatments include handwriting, fine motor, self-care, feeding, vocational, social skills, sensory processing, neuromuscular and wheelchair management.
I graduated from The Ohio State University and am registered with the National Occupational Therapy Board as well as the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association. I attend continuing education seminars several times a year.
During therapy sessions I encourage students to become independent in skill areas by repeated practice and adaptations as needed. Clients are encouraged to “take charge" of sessions in order to practice self-direction and decision-making skills. I like to include functional tasks that apply to real world application.
